In this role, you will be doing the following:
- Supervise and direct the activities of the Business Office using generally accepted accounting principles - Develop and produce monthly and year-end financial statements, annual budgets, and cash flow.
Present these to the Administrator in a timely fashion and assist in interpreting and utilizing financial data - Ensure preparation for annual accounting audit, assist with process, and incorporate recommendations into policy, process, etc.
- Review entries in all ledgers periodically, to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and any relevant regulations - Supervise and direct reconciliation activities - Prepare and manage annual operating budget - Prepare financial records and cost reports for submission to authorized government agencies as required by current regulations (ex:
Medicare and Medicaid cost reports) - Prepare accurate and timely cash flow projections - Supervise payroll/accounts payable along with purchasing - Advise on adjustments due to changes in tax or other laws - Establish and maintain accounts receivable reporting.
Report delinquent accounts to the Administrator on a monthly basis - Active participant during Union negotiations -Attend and present financial information at quarterly Board Meetings.
-Prepare the annual operating budget for approval by the Administrator and allocate the resources to carry out programs and activities to the facility to include a five-year capital budget process -Assist all department heads in the review and planning of their department's annual or periodic budgets -Report suspected or known incidence of fraud relative to false billings, cost reports, kickbacks, etc.
to the Administrator and/or Corporate Compliance Officer -Develop, implement, and maintain accounting procedures for safeguarding resident's funds when a resident requests in writing that the facility do so -Convey all of a resident's funds and a final accounting of the funds and a final accounting of the funds, upon the death of a resident, to the CEO of the resident's estate within 30 days of the resident's death -Arrange for any surety bonds or other financial instruments that are required by laws, regulations or the procedures of facility -All other job duties as assigned Requirements for this role:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years accounting experience in long-term care - Must be knowledgeable of accounting principles, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administration - Must possess the ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports - Must be knowledgeable in auditing principles and practices - Must have working knowledge of all accounting principles, relevant banking procedures, cash management, federal taxation, economic trends, fiscal administration, and employee benefit programs -Strong interpersonal skills -Reliable and professional when handing confidential data -Knowledge of UKG/Kronos Workforce Ready is a plus -Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Physical Requirements:
