As a Flagger, your main responsibility will be to ensure the safe movement of vehicles, pedestrians, and construction workers through designated areas, adhering to traffic control regulations and union standards.
Your expertise in traffic control and your commitment to promoting a safe working environment will contribute to the success of our projects.
Starting pay is $16.
50 with the opportunity to make $18.
50 with a Company vehicle and gas card after completion of our Accelerated Lead Program.
Must be able to pass a drug screen prior to and randomly throughout employment.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Eligibility for union membership.
Reliable source of communication to receive daily work schedule.
Reliable transportation to get to job sites in the Uniontown area.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and interact professionally with coworkers, customers, and pedestrians.
Strong situational awareness and the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, adhering to company standards and safety protocols.
Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods, often in varying weather conditions while lifting 20lbs.
Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and traffic control plans accurately while upholding safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
Traffic Control:
Control and direct the flow of traffic using hand signals, flags, and other approved methods in compliance with local traffic control regulations and company guidelines.
Safety Protocols:
Implement and enforce safety measures and protocols to protect construction workers, motorists, and pedestrians within work zones or areas under traffic control, in accordance with company policies.
Communication:
Effectively communicate with construction workers, equipment operators, and motorists to provide clear instructions and ensure safe traffic flow.
Signage and Markings:
Set up and remove signs, cones, barricades, and other traffic control devices according to established regulatory requirements.
Traffic Monitoring:
Observe traffic flow, identify potential hazards or issues, and take necessary actions to mitigate risks, all while adhering to safety guidelines.
Record-keeping:
Maintain accurate records of traffic flow, incidents, and any other relevant information as required by union regulations, Field Supervisors, or regulatory agencies.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance checks on traffic control equipment in accordance with ensuring proper functioning, and promptly reporting any malfunctions or damage.
Training and Compliance:
Stay updated on traffic control regulations, union policies, guidelines, and best practices.
Attend union-sponsored and company-sponsored training sessions to maintain certifications and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Union Advocacy:
Serve as a representative of the union, advocating for the rights and well-being of union members, promoting fair working conditions, and fostering a cooperative and respectful work environment.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with fellow flaggers, construction crew members, and Field Supervisors to ensure effective teamwork, promote efficient workflow, and uphold Company values.
